MAARS Town Planning offers bespoke and professional town planning services across York and North Yorkshire with the underlaying aim of promoting sustainable forms of development.
With over 14 years' public, private and NGO planning experience, our planner is MRTPI chartered, holding an MSc in Urban and Regional Planning. We are experienced in dealing with a range of developments, including housing, renewables, tourism, storage and distribution, changes of use and advertisement consents.
Principal Work Streams
MAARS is accomplished at the drafting, submitting and project management of planning applications linked to a range of sustainable development types. Our key focus is renewable energy, with experience of gaining consents for wind and solar developments of varying scales across the country.
We are happy facilitate independent housebuilder applications for genuine zero-carbon/near zero-carbon housing, albeit in non-car dependant locations.
We can also object to contentious planning applications on your behalf.
Applications aside, we can help promote your land-holding for uses within emerging local plans, principally by responding to relevant evidence base consultations. We can also try and seek policy amendments in favour of/ against specific types of development in either emerging local plan or local plan review.
We are happy to get involved in planning appeals, also, and represent members of the public in a range of appeal contexts.

Our small-scale means we can provide a bespoke, high quality and cost-effective customer experience. We will also aim to provide advance notice as/when additional costs are to be incurred - usually where additional project management resource is required for more challenging applications.
